Lens Fitting

The Comfort XL Reverse Geometry is a lens that is fit on a very diverse selection of corneas.

  1. The best starting point is selecting a base curve that is close to the “median k” reading.
  2. Place the median K lens on the eye, and use standard rules to steepen and flatten the base curve.
  3. The importance of 1-2 mm of movement and a fluorescein pattern exhibiting a good alignment pattern, horizontally, are the keys to evaluating a good fit.
  4. Once a good central base curve is determined, analyze the peripheral curve to determine if the standard PC is appropriate.
  5. If an adjustment is needed in the peripheral curves, utilize our "step" system to customize the fit for a perfect alignment on the periphery.
  6. Over-refract the patient by attempting to get the patient to an acceptable line of vision without using cylinder.
  7. If cylinder is necessary, report your findings to your contact lens representative.
