Design

• The LasikNear is the first and only post refractive surgery multifocal on the market today.

• Manufactured in any material, however, recommended in higher index materials.

• Reverse Geometry back surface to fit ablated corneas, with high eccentric front surface to accommodate great intermediate and near vision.

Candidates

• Any patient who has had LASIK, RK, Corneal Transplant or corneal trauma.

• A patient that has presbyopic needs.

• Combine the two modalities, and there is the LasikNear.

Fitting

• The Fitting process of this lens is simple, obtain a 14 lens trial kit, and start on "Median k".

  -OR-

• Use the topography to determine the 4mm off center k reading, use that as a starting point for the diagnostic lens.

• Once an optimal fit is achieved, over-refract the patient for distance, keeping the lenticular cylinder out of the equation if possible.

• Use trial frame glasses and a realistic near card to deduce the acceptability of the near vision.
