• Mini Scleral

• Manufactured in Boston XO and XO2 materials.

• Dynamic bearing zone rests on the sclera, eliminating centration and comfort issues.

Candidates

• Post refractive surgery patients

• Keratoplasty patients

• Keratoconus

• Any patients that has demonstrated comfort intolerance with traditional Corneal GP's.

Fitting

• Two main diameters in design: 15mm, and 16mm

• Central K readings often of little value, starting point is 2 diopters steeper than flat k.

• Steepen lenses to achieve limbal vaulting, without compromising health of scleral vessels.

• Good fit is achieved with 150 microns of initial central clearance, allowing lens to settle into eventual 100 microns of central clearance.

• Once this vaulting is achieved, evaluate periphery to check for vessel sealoff.

• After fit is validated, over-refract and customize through Valley Contax.
