I just wanted to share a really cool story with
you about a recent Valley Contax patient (TK) that
was fit in a Custom Stable with vertical prism.
This patient had a traumatic brain injury and has
been struggling for the past 3 years with terrible
vertigo and intense eye pain/dryness since she
could no longer close her eye due to facial
paralysis. When I first met this patient she told
me she just wanted me to completely black out her
eye with a scleral lens since she had to always
ride in the car with an eye patch due to intense
headaches and thought she did not have vision
potential at all in her eye (she was stuck at
about 20/200).
After wearing her scleral lens for a week, she was
able to obtain 20/20 vision and thanks to the
prism that was added to her scleral lens she was
able to walk through the grocery store unassisted
for the first time in three years without feeling
like she was going to fall over. She also does not
need to patch her eye while driving since she does
not feel extreme nausea and headaches.
It truly has been life changing for her. So just
